On the right, you have a terrible scene showing a destroyed environment and a lumberjack destroying the last remaining tree. This project was to encourage awareness of the environmental destruction of deforestation for logging purposes due to political changes in the US.
The purpose of this painting was to capture the memory of the cove we stayed at when my family traveled to the Bahamas. The concept was to capture the bright colors of both the water, the greenery, and the sky while using the impasto technique to move your eyes around the landscape.
The Fort Harrison Deer Painting is my attempt at capturing the natural world from a photograph I took of a very calm deer. It shows depth of field, having a foreground, middle ground, and background. This painting was to prepare myself for further paintings of parks within Indiana.
The Fishers Park Trail Pier painting was originally a photograph and captured the sublime aesthetic. I intentionally made this painting completely black and white with a range of mid-tones to show value and contrast. The concept was purely to work with light and darkness to create meaning.
